MASI Sells Out 3rd Annual Winter Seminar
MASI held its 3rd Annual Winter Seminar on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the Mississippi Hospital Association in Madison, MS. This event was a sellout, and was worth six hours of continuing education. 21 exhibitors also participated, and everyone seemed to greatly enjoy the day.

MASI Hosts Very Successful Legislative Luncheons
For the third year, MASI hosted Legislative Luncheons to allow our members to meet with legislators and discuss issues of concern to them. Over sixty people attended the November luncheons, held at River Hills Club in Jackson and at Mary Mahoneys in Biloxi. Attending the luncheons were Hon. Walter Robinson, Chairman, House Ins. Comm., Hon. Brandon Jones, Vice-Chairman, House Ins. Comm., Hon. Billy Hewes, President Pro-Tem of the Senate and member of the Senate Ins. Comm., Hon. Walter Michel, State Senator, Hon. Joe Warren, House Ins. Committee, and Hon. Jessica Upshaw, House Ins. Committee. Also attending were Hon. Liles Williams, Chairman of the MWCC and Preston Williams, Director of Self-Insurance, MWCC. A record number of registrants and exhibitors attended the 2009 Fall Conference at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, held September 16 & 17, 2009! Participants enjoyed a beautiful day of Golf at The Preserve Golf Club, followed by an evening reception under the stars overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Glenda Arrendondo, portraying the great singer Patsy Cline, serenaded the large crowd as they relaxed and mingled. Celebrity Chef Robert St. John brought an entertaining and inspiring message at Thursday morning's general session. Participants also received updates from Hon. Liles Williams, Hon. Leon Collins, and Hon. Johnny Junkin, MWCC Commissioners, in addition to Hon. Brandon Jones, Vice-Chairman of the Miss. House Insurance Committee. The conference was packed with information, including over eight excellent sessions ranging from Medicare Set-Aside updates to advances in prosthetic treatment.
